Page 1 of 2 As the Family Travel Expert for VISITFLORIDA.com, I am constantly being asked what the best resort is for a family vacation. My answer is always to stay at a full-service hotel with family-friendly amenities - whatever the budget allows. Family travel can be filled with challenges, so I like to recommend places that make traveling with kids easy. I want to feel like I am on a vacation - not a trip!
The 1,500 acre Hyatt, Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando is one of our favorite destinations when we travel with our sons. There is enough activity to keep them busy even after the theme parks and water parks close.
I love telling the story about when we went to Orlando for a theme park vacation. We had park-hopper passes and woke up Sunday morning after spending a few days at the parks. I asked the boys, "Who wants to go to Camp Hyatt?" Four little hands shot straight in the air. My husband and I jumped on the opportunity to sign them up and went straight back to our room for breakfast in bed and to read the Sunday paper. Now, that's what I call a vacation from your vacation!
The kids fed horses, paddled and peddled around the spacious property - with the undivided attention of a Camp Hyatt counselor.
The resort is designed around a tropical water oriented setting just minutes away from many of Orlando's greatest attractions. The resort is located approximately 18 miles (20 - 25 minutes) from the Orlando International Airport and 20 miles from downtown Orlando.
