Le Meridien - Tahiti & Bora Bora PDF Print E-mail

Although most people think of Tahiti and Bora Bora as a honeymoon destination, resorts like Le Méridien Tahiti (www.tahiti.lemeridien.com) and Le Méridien Bora Bora (www.borabora.lemeridien.com) are leading the way in making the islands more enticing for family vacations.

Recently, Le Méridien Bora Bora opened a new outdoor playground, and the resort also offers complementary kid-sized snorkeling equipment as well as special-sized children’s kayaks and sailboats. The resort’s renowned Turtle Sanctuary offers educational feeding sessions and an “adoption” program that lets kids keep track of their turtle’s progress after they return home. Teaching kids about nature and our planet is a very important part of taking them to see the world on family vacations.

At Le Méridien Tahiti, there are many complementary resort activities that are great for families including snorkeling, kayaking, a sandy bottom swimming pool, floats, free access to L’Atelier (the resort’s new artists' space), moonlight movies, table tennis, and tennis. The resort also provides one free transfer per person to downtown Papeete, where families can enjoy colorful markets, art & history museums, botanical and flower gardens, cultural exhibitions and a vibrant nightlight.

I have been taking my boys to resorts that offer such activities for exploring nature's wonders and I can tell you firsthand that these experiences will give them a new outlook on how to treat our environment.  We need to teach our kids that our planet is such a beautiful place and if we are going to preserve it for their kids to see on future family vacations, we need to show them why.
