Let’s face it, sometimes moms just need to get away! My friends and I decided to indulge ourselves for a Mom’s Spa Getaway at the new Sandpearl Resort on Clearwater Beach. I highly recommend not only taking the time for yourself, but staying at this incredible property – with or without your family. Let the crashing waves wash away all the stress of day-to-day life.

Adorning 700 feet of Clearwater’s pristine beachfront, Sandpearl Resort offers some of the best amenities on the Gulf Coast. The first new resort to be built on Clearwater Beach in 25 years, Sandpearl seamlessly blends refined amenities and nature’s splendor to create moments that enrich the spirit well beyond your stay.

The beach front gem that recently replaced the Clearwater Beach Hotel can only be appreciated by walking through its doors. The cheerful decor with yellows, greens and corals, brightens your day immediately. Florida beach-themed paintings by local artist, Christopher Still, adorn the lobby and speak volumes about the mood of the resort.

The colorful sea-themed lobby lets you know you have arrived in the Sunshine State. But, you won’t need any more hints when you see the sunset over the Gulf-of-Mexico from your hotel room.

The pool against the backdrop of the white-sands of Clearwater Beach was exactly what I daydreamed of as I listened to my boys fighting over who would walk the dog that morning. Listening to the Sandpearl’s steel-drum band play, I could think of only one word: “Paradise”.

The Sandpearl is great for family travel as well. I was struck by the resort’s outdoor poolside cabanas for rent for $50 a ½ day for hotel guests. They are great for families because they have flat-screen televisions, shade, drinks and snacks. Some members of your family can take a swim, while others watch a football game or cartoons. What a great idea! I know my husband never wants to miss a big game when we are on vacation. This option allows the best of both worlds: football and swimming.

Sandpearl also has a series of Enrichment Activities that welcome families:

Astronomy Night on the Boardwalk
Artist in Residence program, where guests may have the opportunity to create their own work of art as a keepsake
Marine Discovery – a private boat tour with a marine biologist for $30 per person
Arts and Crafts for kids ages 5-10 ($10 per child)

There will be plenty to do on my next trip. For last weekend’s agenda, I headed to the Sandpearl Spa, where I had a much-needed massage. The treatment was great. The masseuse mixed various techniques for a personalized combination of Shiatsu and Swedish.
