Nature’s Wonders Program Promotes Fun and Educational Family Vacations

Our “Destination Hot Pick” list wouldn't be complete without adding The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, Florida. When I look for family-friendly destinations, I am searching for unique experiences that make a resort a great place to take the kids – a place where the parents feel like children are welcomed. Travel + Leisure Family put this property in its list of Top 10 Family-Friendly Resorts in Florida. I can see why.  From the minute we checked in (and our kids checked in at a mini check-in desk which kept them occupied) this five-star five-diamond resort impressed us all. The gem has an incredible children's program called Nature’s Wonders -- an environmentally focused program for families visiting the resort. Honestly, my two boys said they like the program better than the arcade. That, my traveling friends, is a miracle!

This dynamic program, which replaced Ritz Kids has been created to provide guest experiences where they can connect with nature. Nature’s Wonders, led by a team of certified Master Naturalists at the resort, is designed to promote awareness and respect of Florida’s natural beauty and environment.

Led by the incredible “Ranger Randy,” this is hands-down the most incredible service you could ever find. There isn't a question that Randy couldn't answer when asked by my inquisitive little guys. He even taught me a few things about Florida's ecosystem.
Guests can experience many nature activities including nature walks and a three-hour Eco-Sail through the mangrove islands to view sea turtles and manatees native to the area.

The staff even takes the kids to the beach to search for shells and treasures. They also have an activity where they go sailing on a Catamaran for dolphin-watching.

Parents often ask me if I feel safe letting my kids enter such a program. Personally, I felt totally confident that they were in good hands. The staff answered all of my safety questions. Plus, I always teach my children safety rules and tell them to look out for each other. Finally, the staff gave them neon yellow T-shirts that were so bright they COULDN'T get lost! I also made sure my boys were wearing their IDONME BRACELET with my cell phone number inside.

So, while I was working out in the fitness center and relaxing in the spa whirlpool, my kids were being entertained with programs like “Marine Encounter, “Predators of the Sea,” “A Bug’s Life” and “Budding Botanist.” What could be better? Some parents say they feel guilty leaving the kids in a babysitting service. This is more like leaving them in a classroom filled with adventures.
