Disney's Fort Wilderness - Orlando, FL PDF Print E-mail

     If you enjoy camping (or the idea of being outdoors with minimaleffort), this is the place to go! Our roving reporter, Kim Ashton and her family went to Disney's Fort Wilderness and says this property is camping at it's finest! Here is her report:

There are 784 private campsites! If you want to rough it, you can select campsites and pitch a tent or park your own RV. If you want to camp in style, choose a nice air-conditioned cabin! Each cabin is in the great outdoors, with all the modern amenities you would expect at a Disney Hotel, even a daily housekeeper!

    The cabins include the following ammenities for families:

  • Full kitchen with standard refrigerator, dishes, cooking supplies, dishwasher, etc.
  • Back bedroom with full-size bed and bunk beds
  • Portable crib in every cabin
  • Front room has full size Murphy bed
  • Very large balcony with picnic table
  • Barbecue at each site

    • Pony Rides (Ages 2 and older.)

        Kim and her family have been there six different times over the past four years. On her last trip, she went with 11 families!

        " Disney put our whole group together on the same street," says Ashton. "We had a great time just hanging out in the front yards! It was such a relaxing feeling to let our children ride their bikes around out front of our cabins."

        When booking a vacation at this resort, make sure to ask if Disney is offering any discounts. Each year, they offer discounted rates to Florida residents as well.
